Stegosaurus (name meaning "Roofed Lizard") is a genus of stegosaurid dinosaur that originated during the Late Jurassic period in what is now North America. The largest of all stegosaurs and one of the world's most recognizable dinosaurs, Stegosaurus is famous for the large plates on its back and the lethal spikes on its tail.
Thought to have been extinct for 145 million years, there are still groups that remain alive on Primeval Island.
