Megacerops, previously known as Brontotherium and Brontops, is a species of the prehistoric odd-toed ungulate (hoofed mammal) family Brontotheriidae (or Brontotheres), an extinct group of rhinoceros-like browsers related to horses. It was endemic to North America during the Late Eocene epoch (38–33.9 mya), existing for approximately 4.1 million years.
Thought to have been extinct for 33 million years, there are still groups that remain alive on Primeval Island. In fact there the most common brontothere on the island, alongside Embolotherium.
