Iguanodon (name meaning "Iguana Tooth") is a genus of ornithopod dinosaur that originated during the Early Cretaceous period in what is now North and South America, Europe, and Asia. A herbivorous dinosaur that resembles a combination between the swift bipedal hypsilophodontids and the duck-billed hadrosaurs, Iguanodon is very well-known as one of the first dinosaurs to be identified by science, recognizable by its large thumb spike.
Thought to have been extinct for 70 million years, there are still large herds that remain alive on Primeval Island.
