Gabriel, also known as The Trickster, is the seventh and youngest of the seven archangels of Heaven created by God who served under his father as a messenger of the Lord. He is also a former Supernatural Hunter. As the youngest archangel, he is the younger brother of Michael, Lucifer, Ariel, Uriel, Sariel, and Raphael. He is also a major recurring character in BloodRayne & Mia the Vampire Slayer and a main character in the spin-off Host of Heaven.
Despite the fact that he is the youngest of the archangels, Gabriel is still one of the oldest and most powerful entities, one of the highest-ranking angels and one of Heaven's elite Archangels. Gabriel is very compassionate towards his family. Although he was among the very first celestial beings to be seen on the show, he was the second to last archangel to be revealed.
According to Gabriel, The Apocalypse was an issue he had to cope with on a daily basis. Long ago, when God created mankind, Gabriel was among those angels that bowed down before them. When his older brothers, Michael and Lucifer, turned on each other and began fighting one another, Gabriel, even though he couldn't bear it, stood by his father. Gabriel also loves both his father and siblings, but in spite of that, he decided to side with his father God during the rebellion. Eventually, wanting a life among humans, Gabriel left Heaven and "skipped out" to the Earth. He describes his experience at obtaining a vessel as having a "face transplant."
After that, he went under "witness protection" and he began posing as The Trickster, a Pagan god. Across the world Multiverse, had people killed people that he deemed to be worthless, though some he spared to have them spread the word, and eventually encountered Rayne, Mia and Lilly who foiled his plans on more than one occasion and discovered his true identity. Once Gabriel was exposed, he eventually aided the Team in stopping the Apocalypse by telling them the secret of the Cage door.
After Lucifer was defeated and re-imprisoned, Gabriel, with encouragement from Lilly, returned to Heaven and joined Oracle in his civil war against Michael. When Oracle became the new Ruler of Heaven, Gabriel became Oracle's left hand in Heaven, where Gabriel currently resides. Since then, he has entered a relationship with Lilly but also has aided Oracle in the war against the Turok-Hans and the dissemble of the Order of Angiris.

At some point many millennia ago, Gabriel went on a walk through the fjords where he discovered the pagan deity Loki who was imprisoned in a cave with a snake dropping venom into his eyes following a "spat" with his father, Odin. Gabriel freed Loki from his chains and saved Loki's life, with them becoming friends.
Gabriel was also among the angels that hunted the Turok-Hans alongside his brothers and sisters nearly to extinction, helping his father and siblings in the fight against them, eventually winning the war.
When God created humans and asked all angels to bow down before them, Gabriel did so were as Lucifer rebelled. Gabriel also mentioned that what humans call the Apocalypse, he used to call Sunday Dinner. So even though he grew tired of watching his older brothers, Michael and Lucifer, fight and turn on each other and began fighting one another in Heaven, Gabriel decided to stand by God.
At some point in the Earth's earliest history, God commanded Gabriel to hunt down and kill all Nephilim, the children of angels and humans, who were seen as abominations. These exploits caused Gabriel to deeply hate the Nephilim. But this ended with the Truce of Nephilim as they became Shadowhunters.
Gabriel also mentioned that when he admitted to killing Dracula when he was human. And when Dracula returned from Hell as the first vampire, Gabriel, under orders from God Himself, stripped himself of his grace, descended to Earth and took on living flesh, becoming human, and then spent the next four hundred years of Earth trying to kill Dracula. During his time on earth, Gabriel fought many great battles but also came across a familiar face: his oldest brother Oracle.
After a long battle, Gabriel finally defeated the original vampire and sealed him in a coffin. After returning to his status as an archangel, Gabriel then created a family that was made for the specific purpose of killing Dracula and to make sure he’d never return to the world. That family was the Van Helsings, like Abraham, Christina and Rayne.
Eventually, because he wanted to live on Earth among humans, Gabriel descended to and fled to Earth thousands of years prior to the series. Gabriel loved both his father and siblings very much, but he wanted to stop being a soldier and do things his own way, so he voluntarily left Heaven and "skipped out" to Earth. However, God appeared before him. Gabriel thought that his Father was going to force him to stay, but to his surprise, God told Gabriel that He understood why he wanted to leave and directed him to Eve, who helped him go into hiding as a Pagan.
After Eve helped Gabriel, the young archangel approached Loki for help, wanting out of Heaven. Loki agreed to help Gabriel go into "witness protection". Gabriel then assumed Loki's appearance and the latter's role of a Pagan trickster. Gabriel then took to embracing the lifestyle of a god and meting out "just desserts" to those he felt deserved punishment. During his time on Earth he becomes a friend to some of the real Pagan deities he encounters, who knew him as Loki. Gabriel once appeared to the prophet Daniel, revealing secrets about his future. He also appeared to Zacharias and to the Virgin Mary, foretelling of her pregnancy and the births of John the Baptist and Jesus. He was also one of the four archangels whom God sent to deliver his messages to his prophets. Gabriel was also the angel sent to destroy Jerusalem. He also appeared to Muhammad.
When God tested Michael by ordering him to wipe out all of humanity, Gabriel, along with Uriel, forcefully stopped him, making him realize that he had failed his father's test.
Many generations after "the flood", Michael was put in charge of destroying the twin cities, Sodom and Gomorrah. Gabriel felt that Michael was taking too much joy in delivering Gods wrath. Michael explained that he was just following their fathers orders, and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. This pushed Gabriel to kill his very first human.
When God's chosen people, the Israelite's, were enslaved in Egypt for 400 years, Gabriel's heart compelled him to help them. He convinced God to appear to Moses in a burning bush, which would inspire him to lead his people out of captivity.
Gabriel once watched over a child named David and raised him since he was born. David was a chosen child, and destined to do great things. Gabriel raised him to be humble and kind, and when the time came, and the Jewish people were at war, Gabriel had to push David into battle against Goliath, where he killed the giant. King Saul became jealous of this feat, and threw David off of his tower, killing him. He then placed a decoy, which he could control, to take David's place. This broke Gabriel's heart, who viewed David as his own son. Years later, when the decoy David was very old and had many children, Gabriel got his revenge, throwing him from the window of his tower. Oracle described this as the day Gabriel lost faith in humanity.

In Trickster or Treater, Gabriel, posing as a janitor, lets the Team (excluding Rayne) into the office of a university professor, who apparently was killed by the ghost of a female student he had had an affair with, and who had also killed herself after being dumped by the professor 30 years ago. Loki tells the Team how he was the one who found the dead professor, as well as the fact that the professor wasn't alone but rather with a young girl. He explains that he told the police but they never found her. Gabriel then explains how the professor had a tendency to bring young girls to his office and have sex with them.
After a fraternity brother, who was a horrible pledge master, was probed by Aliens and a research scientist, who tested on animals, was killed by an alligator in the sewer, the Team manages to contact Rayne for advice. After hearing about the personalities of the victims and hearing about the Teams' arguments (Sidney blamed them for her lost laptop, Mia blamed them for her missing wooden stake, Nigel blamed them for hs missing pictures of his wife and children, and Lilly blamed them for her missing diary), Rayne told them that they're dealing with a trickster.
Rayne explains that tricksters are immortal, demi-gods that can create anything out of thin air and tend to play deadly pranks on the high and mighty. Rayne also mentions that tricksters need a diet high in sugar. Mia deduces that the janitor is the trickster, because they find candy wrappers in his locker. As they come up with this conclusion, Gabriel is seen reading a newspaper looking for more possible urban legends to bring to life.
Mia and Lilly, posing as electricians again, go to see Gabriel. Lilly makes up an excuse to separate from Mia and Gabriel so he can search his locker and finds the newspaper filled with urban legends. Later, Gabriel spies on Mia and Lilly arguing whether or not there is enough evidence to prove Gabriel is the trickster. While Lilly leaves to search Gabriel's home to find more evidence, Mia stays behind to keep an eye on Gabriel. Eventually, Mia gets tired of waiting and decides to hunt Gabriel alone and finds him in a lecture hall.
However, Gabriel was waiting for her and creates two handsome men out of thin air as a peace offering for her. He explains to Dean that he's run into hunters before and that he knows that Mia is a Slayer. Mia tells him that she can't let him keep hurting people, to which Gabriel replies that the people he hurt got what they deserved. Gabriel continues by saying that he likes Mia and Lilly and doesn't want to hurt them. He suggests that Mia is free to enjoy the men he's created as long as she wants while he moves on to the next town. When Mia declines, though is tempted, Gabriel says that's too bad and insists that Mia shouldn't have come alone. mia assures him he didn't and Lilly, Rayne, and Nigel enter the lecture hall with blood-covered wooden stakes in hand.
Gabriel realizes that the fight Mia and Lilly had before was staged and compliments them for tricking him. Gabriel then creates a chainsaw killer to fight Rayne and Nigel while Mia is forced to fight the two handsome men, who have now been granted super-human strength. When Gabriel's attention is drawn, Mia is able to stab him with a blood-covered wooden stake, destroying his creations and seemingly killing him. The Team quickly leave so no-one sees them with Gabriel's corpse. After they're gone, Gabriel's corpse fades away. It is shown that what Mia stabbed was actually a duplicate and that the real Gabriel was very much alive.

In FXR, the Team set fire to a circle of holy oil that Gabriel is standing in the middle of. Mia accuses Gabriel of being an angel, due to the stake not working. Gabriel tries to deny this, but it's no use due to his inability to step outside of the circle so he teleports the five of them out of the television world.
Gabriel asks the four how they figured out. They explained what gave him away was how he tried to avoid Oracle each time he appears to help them and altough he avoided Oracle in their previous encounters, Oracle clearly recognised him instantly when Gabriel fled and the way he spoke of the Apocalypse as well as Michael and Lucifer, with Rayne saying that "nobody gets that angry unless they're talking about their own family." Sidney then asks who he really is. The four are surprised when Oracle arrives and kindly greets his younger brother and reveals the Trickster's true identity as the Archangel Gabriel, the seventh and youngest of the Archangels.
Gabriel explains to the group that he left Heaven and went into "witness protection", becoming a trickster known as Loki. He explains to Team that he loves his father and siblings, but he couldn't take them fighting each other so he left and is unhappy that it's happening once again. Sidney then begs him to help them stop the Apocalypse, but Gabriel replies that it can't be stopped. He goes on saying that because of them, he has to watch his eldest brothers kill each other and he just wants the Apocalypse to be over with and couldn't care less whether Heaven or Hell wins.
Although Rayne tries to convince him that is does not need to be that way, Gabriel continues saying that what humans call "The Apocalypse" was "Sunday Dinner" for him with his family and that the Apocalypse isn't about a war but, a family feud about two brothers who loved each other and betrayed each other. He then states that Michael is "the big brother" who's "loyal to an absent father" and Lucifer is "the little brother" who's "rebellious to daddy's plan." Gabriel then says that Michael and Lucifer are going to fight and that one will kill the other. Mia says that won't happen, but Gabriel apologizes and says it will.
Oracle reveals he will fight Lucifer personally rather than Michael, but Gabriel sarcastically tells Oracle that unless he kills Lucifer, as he failed to do so before, he will fail again. Oracle responds by putting out the flames. Oracle asks Gabriel to join him but Gabriel refuses, saying that if Oracle is going to fight Lucifer, he doesn't need his help to beat him.
Immediately, Michael arrives and greets his brothers. Gabriel, nervous in Michael's presence, chose to leave.

Gabriel is one of the kindest Archangels with Ariel, however he can be cruel to those he thinks are the enemy, as seen when he tortured Demonic beings, such has Abbaddon. When he was in Hell when Oracle went to grab Sidney out of Lucifer's Cage, Gabriel would kill any Demons he sees. Having lived alongside the Humans for thousands of years, he slowly became less cruel and focus on finding friendship, kindness, and forming bonds. However, when he witnessed the death of David (someone he considered a son), Gabriel lost faith in humanity.
Since being on Earth, Gabriel behaves in a mischievous manner enjoying games, but being the youngest and wildest archangel, he can be quite a trouble maker. He embraces a hedonistic lifestyle, including the "sweet tooth". He is often sarcastic. Gabriel's manner is the most human of almost any of the angels so far, perhaps because of his long sojourn on earth. He holds humans in high regard, despite their many faults, something the other Archangels did not, not even Michael.
Despite however long Gabriel had been running and hiding from his father and siblings, he still confesses concern for lesser angels and still has love for his archangel brethren and sistren, including Ariel and even Lucifer, whom Gabriel once looked up to, as he mentioned that he loves them. However, because he couldn't bear with the fighting going on in Heaven between Michael and Lucifer, and because it had happened again during the Apocalypse, Gabriel just wanted the fighting to stop. Although he didn't care if either Heaven or Hell would win, he didn't want any part in the fight and all he wanted was for it to be over. However, after re-gaining his faith in humankind, he eventually sides with them as well as Oracle.
Generally, Gabriel is charismatic and humorous. Although he is the youngest of the archangels, Gabriel is not a coward nor in any way a pushover and will fight to the death when situations demand it. Following Lucifer's imprisonment and Oracle's new status as the new Ruler of Heaven, Gabriel's personality has greatly changed. As seen when Lilly was in danger, Gabriel saved her and killed Asmodeus.

Archangel Powers[]
As an archangel of God, despite being the youngest, Gabriel is nevertheless one of the oldest and most powerful celestial beings to exist in creation, endowed with considerable nigh-omnipotent power and possessing incredible powers, such as phenomenal reality warping powers (a lot of which the other archangels have not completely demonstrated themselves), that makes him an extremely powerful archangel of immense power. Gabriel's strength, as an archangel, makes him physically superior and more powerful than common angels and he possesses incredible destructive power, enough to destroy whole cities. He originally appeared to the Team as a Trickster. Before they knew he was an Archangel, Sidney called him "one of the most powerful creatures we've ever met." Both Oracle and Rayne have said that Gabriel was much more powerful than a Trickster, too powerful to be one in fact. He has been in the same manifestation for at least three years, likely much longer. Despite this impressive power, Gabriel is still younger and weaker than Michael, Lucifer, Ariel, Uriel, Sariel, (and possibly Raphael). Below are listed all of the powers that Gabriel has displayed and demonstrated in the show.
- Archangel Physiology: Although the youngest and weakest of the archangels, Gabriel is immensely powerful. Considering the fact that he is one of the strongest and most powerful angels in the history of all creation, his powers far outclass that of other angels, except the Seraphim. Although he is rivaled, if not surpassed, only by his fellow archangel siblings at their peaks, he can even match Raphael, Sariel, and Uriel, is exceeded by, but can challenge, Ariel, Lucifer, and Michael, and is surpassed only by Eartheia, Oracle and the Primordial Beings.
- Immortality: As an angel, Gabriel, like all celestial beings, has an indefinitely long lifespan, having existed long before and been present at the creation of the physical Multiverse. He is both ageless and immortal and not subjected to time, aging, or diseases, and doesn't need to breathe, eat, breathe, or sleep to sustain himself. He is capable of living forever. He, along with all of the angels, existed before mankind. Gabriel does, however, like all celestial beings because they're all siblings of one another, age and mature, even though he is the youngest of the archangel. He is well over 10 billion years old and possesses the appearance of a man in his prime.
- Healing Factor: Gabriel, like all angels, has the power to spontaneously regenerate his body from any injury, even by something angelic. Wounds from most objects, even bullets, instantly heal in seconds without causing him any lasting discomfort.
- Invulnerability: As an archangel, Gabriel, like all archangels, is extremely durable and resistant to any form of harm whatsoever, able to survive fighting against Amara. He is immune to all conventional and almost all supernatural weapons and can't even be harmed by other beings, with very few weapons being capable of killing him, unless something angelic is involved, or if he is fighting another archangel, with only the strongest of beings and their weapons being able to harm and kill him. Only stronger beings such as the older Archangels, Seraphim, and the Primordial Beings having the power to cause Gabriel serious harm or kill him.
- Nigh-Omnipotence: Being the youngest archangel, Gabriel is among one of the most powerful celestial beings in existence and possesses an unbelievable amount of immense power, more than any angel (other than his elder siblings) and enough that he can create entire pocket universes with their own timeline and add in timelines to the Multiverse with just a thought. He has, as he boasted, turned cities to salt and ripped the souls of humans from their bodies. Due to his due to his light and tremendous power, Gabriel was able to fight Amara, with the assistance of his siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, and parents as well as other participants. However, he is significantly weaker than Lucifer and Michael, with Michael even mocking his brother when he stood at his way.
- Angelic Possession: Although he possess his own body, Gabriel, like all celestial beings, requires a willing human vessel among humanity in order to physically interact with humans while on Earth and with the physical Multiverse more completely, as it is a law that applies for all angelic beings. He needs the vessel's consent. Gabriel, like his siblings, cannot be affected by any exorcism and is only capable of being removed from his vessel by the Primordial Beings or Oracle.
- Advanced Angelic Possession: Additionally and unique to himself, Michael and Oracle, Gabriel has the ability to possess lower angels, and with effort, even higher angels bellow archangels. He does this by creating and concentrating a psychic link to any angel and channeling a piece of his consciousness and essence into their bodies. He still possesses his own body, so if his vessel is killed or if he is evicted, he will simply reawaken, alive and well, back in his own body.
- Apporting: Gabriel was able to casually send a fallen angel away and brought him back again just as easily. Gabriel also sent Rayne and Mia back to their room with a snap of his fingers.
- Biokinesis: With a hand gesture, he was able to prevent Rayne and Mia from speaking.
- Highly Advanced Chronokinesis: Gabriel, like all angels, can travel forwards or backwards through time. He can also put others in time loops. He was able to send Sidney back to the day the Team died "permanently" with just a snap of his fingers, apparently rewinding time to do so.
- Clairsentience: Gabriel was able to psychically detect Adalind's tracking spell.
- Deflection: When attacked by Asmodeus with an energy blast, he was able to redirect the blast away from him.
- Demotion of Spheres: Archangels are able to cast higher angels out of their bodies, making them disembodied spirits. This demotes them to the lowest sphere, gaining them the title of Lower Angel. This is done by saying a prayer of damnation before stabbing their body.
- Exorcism: Gabriel can kill demons just by thinking or simply by touching the body that they're possessing.
- Healing: Like all angels, Gabriel has the ability to heal any wound that a person possesses, even fatal ones.
- Holy White Light: Gabriel, like all Archangels, has the ability to generate divine light and project a powerful blast of destructive light from his palm that is able to injure or kill most beings and deal tremendous damage to the world. He can ignite or disintegrate any object or thing by touch. This ability also allows him to kill monsters and creatures alike as well as kill and exorcise demons by placing his hand upon their forehead. And he has the ability to purify the souls of those affected by demons.
- Psychic Bond: Gabriel shares a psychic bond with his siblings. This allows him to communicate telepathically and speak into their minds even over great distances.
- Highly Advanced Reality Warping: Gabriel is remarkably talented with this power and can accomplish just about anything with it, and it is his trademark as well as his most utilized ability. Gabriel, as an Archangel, is able to manipulate reality to a tremendous degree, whether it be by making objects or living beings appear out of thin air, or by reshaping objects into something else entirely, or by creating unreal dimensions and large time loops. He also once turned Sidney Devereaux into her car. He easily fooled the most powerful of pagan deities, created a fake Archangel blade - which he said he created from a can of Diet Orange Slice - that Kali "killed" him with. None of them knew it was a trick and believed Gabriel was, in fact, dead after Kali stabbed him. However, Lucifer can see through and outdo everything he can do.
- Highly Advanced Conjuration: Gabriel can create anything out of thin air, whether it be people, creatures, beings, or objects.
- Perception Alteration: Gabriel can make people see and hear things that are not really there.
- Illusion Casting: As an Archangel and having masqueraded for thousands of years as a God of Mischief, Gabriel is incredibly skilled at creating illusions. The only people able to see through his best illusions are the Primordial Beings, Oracle, Eartheia, and his archangel siblings.
- Self-Duplication: Gabriel can create another duplicate of himself to deceive others, as he did a few times with the Winchesters, and once with a group Pagan Deities.
- Resurrection: Gabriel, like all archangels, has the ability to easily revive dead humans, monsters, or even fellow angels. He can call back the souls of the recently deceased to their bodies and return them to life. He can grant them a form of immortality by refusing to let them die until they fulfill their obligations to him.
- Shapeshifting: Gabriel can change his appearance at will. Gabriel once disguised himself as Dr. Sexy when he trapped Rayne and Mia in his conjured TV world. When he confronted Lucifer in a bar, Gabriel disguised himself as a bartender to get close to him. Additionally, Gabriel can transform into a flock of luminous white doves. Like all angels, he hides his wings with this ability.
- Dove Form: Gabriel can transform into a flock of white doves.
- Self-Incarnation: Gabriel can create a living human vessel for himself to inhabit.
- Spiritual Manifestation: As one of the higher Angels, Gabriel has both a physical and spiritual body. As such, he is able to manifest himself spiritually on Earth, so that only other angels could interact with him, but humans would not be able to see or touch them.
- Highly Advanced Smiting: Gabriel, as an Archangel, is able to smite all monsters and demons effortlessly.
- Highly Advanced Superhuman Endurance: Gabriel once jumped from a ledge 100 feet in the air and landed without any injury.
- Highly Advanced Superhuman Speed: Noted to compensate for his lack of strength compared to his older Archangel siblings via his speed, Gabriel is the second fastest of the Archangels, surpassed only by Michael and being as fast as Lucifer. Gabriel is capable of moving at speeds that make him appear as a blur of motion to the human eye. While being chased by demons and pagans, Gabriel is shown moving with tremendous celestial speed, faster than ordinary angels.
- Highly Advanced Superhuman Agility: Gabriel has unnatural balance and he can jump unusually high as well as twist and turn acrobatically. When facing a horde of demons and vampires, he wielded a silver Celestial chain whip with ease and performed many acrobatic feats while fighting Sariel.
- Highly Advanced Superhuman Strength: Like all angels, although the youngest archangel, Gabriel's presence within a vessel dramatically increases said vessel's strength, endowing his said vessel with a vast amount of dramatically increased superior physical strength and can exert tremendous amounts of physical force, allowing him to exert steel-bending levels of physical power, strike with considerable force, single-handedly send grown men across as room, and lift enormous weights with ease. He is able to casually overpower, slaughter and kill almost any beings; as such, Gabriel is noticeably stronger than humans, hunters, slayers, monsters, spirits, fairies, reapers, pagans, demons, and lesser and higher angels with ease. Through daily training, as he claims to have been training to increase his physical strength to make up for his lack of strength, he has grown noticeably stronger, as Oracle, Ariel and Michael noted. When Mia confronted Gabriel by grabbing him against a wall, he effortlessly broke out of the hold and managed to dislocate Mia's arm with a single punch, even though he was restraining himself heavily. He easily overpowered and almost choked Mia and Rayne unconscious on two occasions, still restraining himself heavily, even claiming to be able to crush their heads. Even while weakened, Gabriel still was easily strong enough to overpower and toss several lesser angels off him with great force. His improved strength, while still outclassed by Oracle, Michael and Lucifer, was still able to hold them off much longer than the Teams did, albeit they were all not fighting at full strength, able to cause them some pain and stagger them with his blows and he even quite easily threw Michael through several yards. Combined with his superior skills, he was able to go toe-to-toe with and ultimately overpower and incapacitate Ariel, although he noted he is still a bit weaker in terms of strength, and fairly quickly best Raphael. The only beings said to physically surpass his overwhelming strength were his Archangel siblings as well as the Seraphim and the Primordial Beings.
- Supernatural Concealment: After Gabriel left Heaven, he went to Pagan who assisted him in disappearing and concealed him in such a way that those who sensed him felt only the trickster god Loki. Gabriel had since lived among the pagans for some time while successfully hiding his status as an angel. He later managed to fake his death at Lucifer's hands.
- Advanced Telekinesis: Gabriel can impart kinetic energy on matter with his mind, allowing him to move people and or objects just by thinking. Camael, although being a powerful celestial, was no match for his much older brother. Gabriel slammed him into walls, duct-taped his mouth and played around with Camael like he was nothing using telekinesis. This further proved that the power of ordinary angels could not even compare with the immense powers of the seven Archangels. He even managed to use his telekinesis to throw his older brother Lucifer across a room with considerable force, although Lucifer was caught off guard at the time and quickly recovered.
- Telepathy: Gabriel has the ability to communicate using his mind and read the minds, thoughts, and memories of others, such as humans, monsters, and even other angels alike.
- Dreamwalking: Gabriel, like all angels, can enter the dreams and minds of humans.
- Empathy: Gabriel is able to read the emotions of humans and monsters.
- Induced Sedation: Gabriel, like all angels, can cause humans to fall to the ground unconscious just by touching their forehead.
- Teleportation: As an Archangel, Gabriel, like all celestial beings, can effortlessly vanish and reappear anywhere in time, space, and any place on the face of the Earth as well as travel from one place to another, instantaneously, without occupying the space in between and even take others with him. He is able to teleport almost anywhere in all of the creation in an instant unless blocked by one of the Primordial Beings, sufficiently powerful magic, Holy Fire, or prisons made to hold Archangels.
- Weather Manipulation: Gabriel has the power to influence the weather.
- Elemental Control: Like other archangels, Gabriel is capable of manipulating wind, fire, light, and lightning.
- Aerokinesis: Gabriel is able to generate and manipulate spiritual wind powerful enough to blast Lucifer across a room, and tear apart a group of Turok-Hans with the pressure.
- Electrokinesis: Gabriel was able to turn the lights off and on with a snap of his fingers effortlessly.
- Highly Advanced Pyrokinesis: Gabriel can set fire to objects and people with only a thought or hand gesture. Gabriel was able to light two candles from afar with only just a thought. Gabriel was later able to kill the Greater Demon Asmodeus by incinerating him with a gesture.
- Elemental Control: Like other archangels, Gabriel is capable of manipulating wind, fire, light, and lightning.
- Wings: As a corporeal angel, Gabriel possesses a set of enormous, white-colored feathery swan-like wings from his upper back.
- Flight: As a higher angel, Gabriel's wings can manifest as he pleases. When his wings spread out, Gabriel can instantly take flight, flying under his own power with his wings like all angels. His wings seemed to merely flap gently and slowly while flying or levitating.
- Wing Shields: Gabriel's wings are impenetrable, and thus are more than strong enough to protect him from gunfire and rocket launchers.
- Wing Blades: Gabriel is able to use his wings to slice through anything.
- Angelic Possession: Although he possess his own body, Gabriel, like all celestial beings, requires a willing human vessel among humanity in order to physically interact with humans while on Earth and with the physical Multiverse more completely, as it is a law that applies for all angelic beings. He needs the vessel's consent. Gabriel, like his siblings, cannot be affected by any exorcism and is only capable of being removed from his vessel by the Primordial Beings or Oracle.
- Nigh-Omniscience: While not omniscient, Gabriel, as the seventh Archangel, possesses an immensely vast amount of immediate knowledge about Creation and everything that exists within it. He even possesses knowledge on his older brother's Cage, and how to open it. Thus, he also knew about the true purpose of the Horsemen's rings, though he didn't know that Lucifer was also aware of this. Gabriel is also insanely smart, having succeeded on faking his death more than once. On one occasion, he tricked a big group of Pagan Deities into thinking he had been murdered by Kali, only to appear again in time to save the latter from Lucifer's wrath.
- Heightened Super Senses: As an archangel, Gabriel is imbued with super senses. He can hear every breath, and hear every heart beat. Gabriel was able to hear Lilly and Mia "fighting" down below from a closed window many floors up, and on another occasion, while he was walking away from the restaurant, he heard that Sam had found him out and threw him back to Tuesday again.
- Supernatural Perception: Gabriel is able to perceive almost any being in existence, with only the Primordial Beings and Oracle being able to block his sight.
- Immortality: As an angel, Gabriel, like all celestial beings, has an indefinitely long lifespan, having existed long before and been present at the creation of the physical Multiverse. He is both ageless and immortal and not subjected to time, aging, or diseases, and doesn't need to breathe, eat, breathe, or sleep to sustain himself. He is capable of living forever. He, along with all of the angels, existed before mankind. Gabriel does, however, like all celestial beings because they're all siblings of one another, age and mature, even though he is the youngest of the archangel. He is well over 10 billion years old and possesses the appearance of a man in his prime.
Primordial Blessing[]
In order to give Gabriel his ground to stand, God granted Gabriel the Primordial Blessing of Light, which allows Gabriel to activate a mode that grants him sufficient power to keep up with Michael and Lucifer and aid greatly in the battle with Amara.
- Nigh-Omnipotence: In an effort to help in the war against Amara, Gabriel's powers were greatly augmented by God with Primordial Blessing. Although to what extent is unknown, it appeared to at least surpass Uriel's power. With this power, Gabriel was able to help God, the two Seraphim, the other four Archangels, lesser angels, and the other forces of God finally truly defeat Amara.
- Increased Superhuman Speed: With Primordial Blessing, Gabriel is fast enough to move at speeds that makes him look as if he disappeared as well as create afterimages. This form was fast enough to keep up with Michael, although he is eventually outmaneuvered by Oracle and Eartheia.
- Increased Superhuman Strength: With Primordial Blessing, Gabriel's strength is great enough to combat Michael and Lucifer. His attacks carry enough force to penerate their invulnerability and he could even punch Michael through several steel beams and was able to push Lucifer through several walls.
Super Charged Archangel[]
Gabriel absorbed the Grace of many Fallen Angels into himself in order to defend against Michael and became super-charged. He lost this power after Michael defeats him and extracts the Grace using God's Representative.
- Superhuman Strength: At this state, Gabriel was strong enough to physically dominate Michael when the latter was holding back and rival his elder brother's full strength reasonably evenly, able to stalemate him in a grapple and cause him to bleed with his punches.
Human Abilities[]
Though during his human life, he is an incarnate archangel, Gabriel had no verifiable supernatural powers, but his human abilities made up for it, as they were on a greater scale than a normal man:
- Longevity: Even as a human, Gabriel lived on Earth for over 400 years old and retains the appearance and health of a fit young man in his prime, as he hunted Dracula for more than 4 centuries.
- Peak-Human Physiology: Although human, as a Supernatural Hunter, Gabriel was nevertheless in excellent physical form. As such, he was far stronger, faster, intelligent, and powerful than a regular human could possibly get. However, as the progenitor of the Van Helming family, he was far more powerful than average Helsing hunters and Oracle even compared him to Christina's.
- Peak-Human Durability: Even as a human, Gabriel was far more durable and was able to withstand attacks that would normally kill a man. He survived hits from Dracula's brides and Dracula himself and other creatures, and the bite of a werewolf. He was also able to survive a lighting strike (though he didn't receive the full impact) and surviving a fall from a tower.
- Peak-Human Speed: Gabriel was shown to be extremely agile as well as having great reflexes. His reflexes allowed him to evenly match with Dracula and outspace Vampires and Werewolves.
- Peak-Human Strength: While not superhuman, Gabriel's physical strength was at higher superhuman levels than most Vampires and Supernatural Hunters, equal to that of Christina and can easily allow him to lift or press his own weight. During his fight with Dracula, he was almost able to pull him off a cliff (but Dracula was able to counterattack), and he was able to go toe to toe with Dracula.
Skills and Talents[]
Whether an archangel of a human, Gabriel possesses talents that to this day remain unchanged.
- Hunter Instincts: Due to the fact that he has been hunting for years, Gabriel developed an instinctive reaction on how to react when hunting, also to warn himself of any danger.
- Heavenly Host Training: As an archangel, despite being the youngest, Gabriel has received and gone through the highest levels of training to become an angelic warrior of God, having been trained by Oracle himself, therefore making him an extremely skilled fighter and highly accomplished warrior. Even as human, his fighting skills and combat effectiveness remained unchanged.
- Master Combatant: Being an archangel, even as a human, Gabriel is an extremely skilled warrior and extensively trained in combat. Gabriel was skilled enough to easily defeat the likes of Rayne and Mia and hold his own reasonably well against the holding back Michael and Oracle. He also defeated Dracula as a Supernatural Hunter and managed to defeat and kill Sariel.
- Master Swordsmanship: Gabriel displayed advanced swordsmanship proficiency, showing impressive moves with a sword, fighting sporadically and swiftly. He even held off Lucifer during the Apocalypse in a sword fight but eventually proved no match for him.
- Weaponry Expert: He has shown to be extremely proficient in handling many weapons of any kind, both medieval and modern. These include dual spinning razor-sharp saws, dual pistols, silver stakes, a crucifix, bow and arrow, and his most important weapon, his repeater crossbow. He is also a very good aim with them. Oracle himself acknowledges how skilled with firearms Gabriel is.
Equipment[]
- Archangel Blade: Gabriel uses and wields an archangel blade as her substitute personal weapons that can kill almost all beings, even his own Archangelic kind. He uses the blade in his fight with Lucifer.
- Archangel Sword: In addition to his blade, Gabriel also carries a sword that is powerful enough to harm and kill archangels.
- Bow and Arrow of God's Greatest Messenger: In addition to his archangel blade, Gabriel possesses a bow that can fire powerful arrows of pure celestial energy that can kill anything under an archangel instantly and even harm Seraphim as well as potentially greatly injure even fellow Archangels. It was created by God Himself.
Weaknesses[]
Despite being the youngest of the archangels, Gabriel is still very powerful in his own right. However, he has weaknesses of his own that can harm him. There are very few things that can harm or defeat Gabriel. Although he is remarkably strong and very powerful, as a celestial, Gabriel is still susceptible to the angelic weaknesses that even archangels possess.
Harming, Misleading or Trapping[]
- Turok-Hans: As God's first beasts and being almost as old as Angels, Turok-Hans can harm archangels, including Gabriel.
- Turk-Han Bite: While a Turok-Han bite can't kill Gabriel, it weakens him and causes hallucinations. The effects are temporary and only lasts for a few hours.
- Lucifer's Cage: One of God's very own creations, originally built to imprison Lucifer. This cell can hold any angel, including Gabriel, without any internal means of escape.
- Enochian Sigils: Even being an archangel, Gabriel can not locate someone if they were warded by Enochian sigils. Enochian sigils can hold Gabriel in place, banish him away, or hide a human from his supernatural senses.
- Grace Removal: Like all angels, Gabriel can have his grace removed and be turned human which is what has happened to him.
- Mortality: When he was human, despite his enhanced physical attributes, Gabriel was vulnerable to all mortal injuries after he was removed of his grace and shares many of the same weaknesses as non-supernatural beings (e.g. decapitation, disease, heart-failure, suffocation, etc.)
- Holy Fire Oil: As powerful as he is, Gabriel can be trapped in a loop ring of holy fire and he can't cross holy fire, as passing through the flames will kill him and his vessel.
- God power: Using God's power, Michael was able to trap Gabriel and put him in a trance that would make him loyal to Heaven.
Banishing and Destroying[]
Beings[]
- Archangels: While lower classes of angels couldn't physically hurt Gabriel, with their own strength, Archangels can physically hurt each other. Any of Gabriel's closest and older siblings are capable of harming, defeating, and killing him, like he did with Lucifer. However, because Gabriel is the youngest archangels, his older brothers and sisters can harm and kill him. While he could still fight and even potentially beat Raphael, Sariel, and Uriel as well as Ariel, due to being more skilled than she is, Michael and Lucifer are ultimately far too strong and Michael even once effortlessly trashed him around and even made his eyes bleed and severely damaged his body, albeit granted Michael had gotten more powerful than ever since his training with the Primordials.
- Seraphim: As the most powerful angels to exist, Seraphims can overpower even archangels. Also, as Gabriel is the youngest, any of the Seraphim can overpower and kill him with ease. Eartheia the youngest seraph, is also considerably stronger than Gabriel. However, Gabriel is strong enough to fight the Seraphim for at least a short time.
- Oracle: Being the Original Seraphim Angel, Oracle is even way too far much more powerful than Gabriel and can kill him with ease. Gabriel himself fears Oracle and did not dare fight him. Oracle, while holding back, could easily overpower and badly beat Gabriel and even with his blade, Gabriel was beaten.
- Primordial Beings: As the first and greatest entities of all, they can kill any being, including Gabriel.
Weapons[]
- Archangel Blade: Designed specifically to kill Archangels, Archangel blades can harm and kill Gabriel. However only Archangels themselves are able to get close enough to use the blade.
- Heaven's Weapons: Lot's Salt could irreparably dissolve even Raphael's vessel, but didn't kill Raphael himself. All of Heaven's weapons acting together could possibly enough to cause Gabriel to flee for his life.
- Original Angelic Blades: Being the most powerful angelic blades ever created and among the most powerful weapons in the universe carried by Oracle himself, these blades can harm and kill archangels, including Gabriel.
- Death's Scythe: Being a weapon forged by Death himself, Death's scythe can literately kill anything.
- Latin Exorcism: A Latin exorcism can banish Gabriel from his body and back to heaven.
Relationships[]
Oracle and Gabriel[]
Oracle is Gabriel's eldest brother and sibling. Gabriel can act humorous with Oracle, however Oracle does still act like a big brother with Gabriel, such as being overprotective and not getting very annoyed with Gabriel's Behavior. Gabriel truly loves and cares about Oracle and even shows it when Oracle was in Heaven's Infirmary, injured from the Turok-Han Queen bite he received in the first Turok-Han war. The two angels are somewhat opposites when it comes to being serious, as Oracle can be strict and serious while Gabriel is very humorous. They care very deeply for each other and it is seen in a few episodes, such as when Oracle rescue Gabriel from being bound by the Pagans and smiles in relief that his youngest brother's alright.
Gabriel and Lilly[]
Lilly Yen is Gabriel's girlfriend. At first, the two couldn't stand each other. However, Gabriel was taken by her words when she said he was too scared to stand up to his family. Eventually, after saving her from Asmodeus, the two started to fall for each other and then stared a relationship.
