The African savanna elephant is a species in the genus Loxodonta, the other living member, being the African Forest Elephant. African savanna elephants are herbivores and live in groups. They have grey skin and have large ears. Unlike the forest elephant, savanna elephants have pale tusks. They also differ in the size of their ears, tusks. They have slighty different skulls, too.
